This month, Bookcase.Club started out their box with a quote, "I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains"(Anne Frank taken from A Diary of a Young Girl). This quote is perfectly fitting for November. This quote, while about the Holocaust, applies to the changing seasons. As we venture further into winter, seasonal depression sets in making us see only the misery instead of the beauty. This is easily cured with a great read from BookCase.Club

This month, I received the "Blind Date" box. To give you just a small taste of what each box has in store, I have included a small quote from each. "[t]here's no sweeter taste in the entire history of the world than your skin on fire. For me"(Zanetti from Fated). This quote shows the romance that takes place in fated. This book features an absolutely thrilling and unique romance that simply cannot be found anywhere else. In contrast, Patrick Jones, author of The Tear Collector, writes, "I've learned to listen not to what people have to say but how they say it. I watch them closely how they speak, in particular their eyes. Lips lie, but the eyes never do". I love this quote so much because it really shows how insightful the book is. This book subtly teaches the reader life lessons, and I loved every page of it.

Between hookups, makeups, and breakups, there isn't a day at Lapeer High School without drama and tears. And tears seem to be as essential as Oxygen for one student: Cassandra Grey, the main character of The Tear Collector. Along with her family, she hungers-not for blood-but for tears. Human sorrow quenches her thirst and keeps her full for days. Cass stands as a shoulder to cry on for her friends, a heart-breaker for boys, and a counselor for her school. These give her plenty of opportunities to collect her ambrosia. Having tired of all the lies and manipulation, Cass wants out. She's fallen in love with a human. Can she betray her family for a chance at happiness and joy? This supernatural romance will hook all readers!

Cara Paulsen, the main character of Fated, is strong-willed, determined, and never gives up. A scientist and a single mother, she knows how to get what she wants and how to take control of a situation. She also knows she will do whatever it takes to protect her daughter, Janie. She did not know that whatever it takes included a forced marriage to a dangerous stranger with a bad attitude. Talen claims he is there to protect Cara and Janie. He also claims he is a three hundred year old vampire. And the crazy part is- Cara might just believe him.

There you have it! Two perfect reads to enjoy over your Thanksgiving break. In between the warm food, family and the hustle and bustle of work, be sure to find time to read a good book and sign up for BookCase.Club. If you use the code "Nicole15" you can get 15% off!
